Welcome to the 2015 Rouge-Orleans ultramarathon and team relay.

The 2015 Rouge-Orleans will take place February 13th – 15th, Mardi Gras weekend!  It also happens to be Friday the 13th, and Valentine’s Day.   The 126.2 mile trek starts in the capital city of Baton Rouge and Finishes in Audubon Park in New Orleans. Participants will run on top of the levee for up to 42 hours following the Mighty Mississippi as it meanders its way 126.2 miles down to New Orleans.  Running alongside historical plantations, sugarcane fields, swamps, the old haunted Carville Leper Colony, various towns, and the Mississippi river will provide runner’s with an unforgettable visual tour of the state of Louisiana

Team Relay

Runners may compete in teams of 2, 3, or 6 with each person running 5 legs of of varying distances.   Runners alternate legs at official exchange zones until they reach the finish line in New Orleans. Click Here to view the Relay Legs from last years race.  Things won’t change much for 2015.

Solo Ultramarathon

Crews have access to their runners for just about the entire course. The first 100 miles is mostly a mixture of packed dirt, rocks, and grass, while the last 26.2 miles is paved.  The course is almost entirely closed to vehicular traffic, as runners will be running on the Mississippi River Levee.

Signs posted at each exchange

Posted on February 6, 2013 by admin No Comments

There will be a numbered sign posted at every exchange, both on top of the levee and by the road. They are not big signs (3 foot x 2 foot), as we are limited to how big signs can be on the route. In the event of a missing sign on race day we will let know via facebook and website updates.
