Experience Mardi Gras!

Parades roll near the Start and Finish lines.

Baton Rouge -Downtown

  • Spanish Town Parade (Saturday, February 9th @ noon)

Welcome to the 2013 Rouge-Orleans ultramarathon and team relay.

The 2013 Rouge-Orleans will take place February 8th – 10th, Mardi Gras weekend! With more volunteers, great sponsors and runners competing  from all over the world, this year is sure to be the best RO yet.  The 126.2 mile trek starts in the capital city of Baton Rouge and Finishes in Audubon Park in New Orleans. Participants will run on top of the levee for up to 42 hours following the Mighty Mississippi as it meanders its way 126.2 miles down to New Orleans.  Running alongside historical plantations, sugarcane fields, swamps, the old haunted Carville Leper Colony, and the river will provide runner’s with an unforgettable visual tour of the state of Louisiana.

Mardi Gras Weekend! Outside of being part of a great run, runners also get to experience the insanity of Mardi Gras. There are several parades passing within walking distance of the start and finish lines, and we encourage everyone to take some time to enjoy the festivities.

Signs posted at each exchange

Posted on February 6, 2013 by admin No Comments

There will be a numbered sign posted at every exchange, both on top of the levee and by the road. They are not big signs (3 foot x 2 foot), as we are limited to how big signs can be on the route. In the event of a missing sign on race day we will let know via facebook and website updates.
